About Us

Today you are you! That is truer than true!
There is no one alive who is you-er than you!” Dr Seuss

You are unique, and finding the real you is the main aim from the work that I do

Life is a riddle and a rhyme sometimes, and can be a bit of a roller coaster and no matter how old you are, the riddle can take you in the wrong direction, sometimes you feel like the roller coaster is always on the way down. I work with children, parents, families and professionals to help to find a better way forward.

My name is Janet Cassidy and I started my work with children as a teaching assistant in a school, often working one to one with children with special needs. I was always puzzled why children behaved, and reacted so differently, and this led me on a journey of self-discovery and training.

I very quickly moved to working as a Home / School Link Worker in the same school where I remained for the next 10 years. During this time I trained as a Play Therapist, Filial Therapist, a Clinical Supervisor and a Dyadic Developmental Practitioner; and a Registered Sandplay Therapist.

Branching out on my own as a therapist, clinical supervisor and trainer I have worked extensively in schools, with many children and families who have experienced extreme trauma and abuse, and have my own private practice based in Godalming, Surrey.

I currently offer supervision to trainee play therapists, qualified play therapists, home/school link workers, key workers with children, and teaching staff. I help them to understand what might be happening in their interactions with children and colleagues, and how they might move forward in their relationships. I use the seven eyed model of supervision, the KOLB model and weave Dan Hughes PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) into the supervision.
